The feeders are hand made in Birmingham, UK, not imported and so reducing the 'manufacturing miles'. They are made from aluminum, which is readily recyclable, and powder coated in an olive green finish to blend unobtrusively with a garden environment. 

The perch rod secures the bottom cap which is used for both filling and also cleaning the feeder and this is secured by a small split washer to prevent the squirrel from emptying it himself!
